[crystalswap!au] modern blue pearl

Hey, I actually colored a Crystal Swap sketch this time. Hurray!

Since the last time I drew her did "during-the-rebellion" BP (aka 5000+ years ago), I decided that I should show how she'd look in the time the show takes place in. Given her quiet personality, I put her in one of those big oversized sweaters. I think it's fitting. Also, note that while the roles in the timeline were swapped, the personalities of the characters are the same. So BP is still the timid little mouse she is in canon, but she stands up for herself, uses a sword, and is grieving a Jasper she was madly in love with.

If you are wondering why you can see BP's eyes in her Crystal Swap forms, it's because that she basically saw her long-ass bangs as a symbol of her serving Blue Diamond. If you look at BD's followers that we've seen so far (Lapis, Sapphire, Holly Blue), they all have long, fringe-y bangs in their hairstyle. I think that is because it's supposed to resemble BD's hood. I think all the Diamonds have their own "fashion trends" that their followers wear, including the hairstyles they are programmed to have upon forming. For example, notice how all of Pink Diamond's Quartzes have long, puffy hair. However, look at Holly Blue and she has short hairstyle, with BD bangs.

This would be her after "Steven the Swordfighter," when her hologram she was training with accidentally stabs her in the chest because she was distracted, causing her to reform.

I think Peridot (swapped with Garnet) will be the next design. ;D
